Can highly recommend this Lodge. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The two little dogs were a delight too! Our suite was very comfortable and beautifully furnished as was the homestead. The food was delicious and dinner was accompanied with a flight of local wines

This was our first stop of several in New Zealand and in many ways the most memorable. Ian and Ali went out of their way, but without being the least ostentatious, to live up to their five star rating. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. Dinners were exquisite with delicate wines chosen to pair with the gourmet courses. Breakfasts were superb and graciously served. Views of the estuary were breathtaking especially at dawn and dusk. To top it off, Otis and Louis made fine companions

We had a lovely and extremely well equipped room providing great privacy and stunning views over the water. Ian and Ellie were perfect hosts and provided pre-dinner drinks and lovely food. Their local knowledge was extensive and they were most eager to ensure that we got the most out of our stay in the area. And their two dogs are very sweet!

There should be a seven star rating for The Lodge. Stunning scenery, luxury accommodation, exceptional food and two of the nicest people you could ever meet. Ali and Ian are passionate about what they do and so knowledgeable. We came as visitors and left as friends - they are wonderful. Our travel agent steered us to Te-Koi when we were planning our trip to Nelson, NZ. We were a little bit hesitant, because it is about a 30 minutes drive from Nelson in the countryside. Thank goodness we went. We would have to rate Te-Lori amongst the top lodges we have ever stayed at. The service and care showed to us by Ian & Ali, the owners was simply superb. They could not do enough for us and that included transporting us to dinner at a nearby pub

This was the outstanding stay on our 6 week trip. Quality was the ever present ingredient with superb lodges, fantastic food and seamless help, enthusiasm and attention from our hosts. Ian and Ali went out of their way to help us get the most out of our holiday either by highlighting places to visit that we would have missed and were not in the guide books or by hosting super evening meals with champagne to start and matched wines to follow. Staff too were excellent...with all keen to work to the highest standard of hospitality
